The Contra-Kreis-Theater is the oldest private theater in Bonn. It was founded by Gustav Kurt Hoffmann and opened on May 20, 1950 with the play Hamlet. In 1966, it had to make way for the new town hall at its former location. Since then, it has been located next to the main building of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. Comedies, musicals and current plays by young authors will be played.
