Il Contra-Kreis-Theater è il teatro privato più antico di Bonn. È stato fondato da Gustav Kurt Hoffmann e inaugurato il 20 maggio 1950 con l'opera Hamlet. Nel 1966 ha dovuto lasciare la sua sede originale per far posto al nuovo municipio. Da allora occupa un posto accanto all'edificio principale dell'Università Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms di Bonn. Vengono rappresentati commedie, musical e opere di giovani autori.
