Anreppen

The Roman military camp of Anreppen is located in the hamlet of the German city of Delbrück, in the district of Paderborn. It is part of a whole series of fortifications built at the time of Augustus, for the purpose of the occupation of Germany and its transformation into a Roman province.
The time of the foundation of the camp was suggested by the Roman historian Velleius Paterculus about the occupation campaigns of Germany in the Augustan age, of the years 4 and 5 by Tiberius. The end of its use was almost certainly the defeat of Teutoburg, where three Roman legions and its commander, Publius Quintilius Varus, were annihilated in 9.
