The Fleckernheide is a nature reserve in Verl, Gütersloh district, Detmold administrative district, with a size of 10.5 hectares. It is listed with the number GT-000. As part of the wet meadow protection programme of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, it was designated as a nature reserve by the district president of Detmold with the ordinance of 18 July 1989. It was then repealed by decree of 11 April 1991 after the area was designated as a nature reserve in the Sennelandschaft landscape plan of the Gütersloh district. As compensation areas for the expansion of the A 33, the Fleckernheide and the surrounding areas were bought up by the Federal Republic of Germany.
