The state electoral district Bielefeld I is an electoral district for the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia. It includes the core area of the independent city of Bielefeld with the districts of Mitte, Schildesche, and Gadderbaum. In the 2005 state election, the electoral district was one of only two districts that the SPD was able to win in East Westphalia-Lippe. The electoral district was newly established in this form for the 2005 state election. From 1980 to 2005, there was an electoral district 105 Bielefeld I, which included the Bielefeld districts of Schildesche, Heepen, Dornberg, and Jöllenbeck. Before 1980, there was already a state electoral district Bielefeld-City I with different boundaries.
