The Friedrichsfeld locks belong – from the Rhine – to the first of the six canal stages of the Wesel-Datteln Canal at canal kilometre 1.85 in Voerde-Emmelsum near Wesel.
The Friedrichsfeld lock group is located not far from the junction of the Wesel-Datteln Canal from the Rhine. The passage at the large lock takes about 30 minutes, at the small one about 15 minutes.
