Mülheim City Center Subway Station

The Mülheim Stadtmitte subway station is a subway station in Mülheim. It is operated by the Duisburg light rail and the Mülheim tram. It is located along the section of the light rail line Schloß Broich-Mülheim Hbf
The Mülheim Stadtmitte stop has developed over the decades into the central stop for all tram lines operating in Mülheim, also since the 1990s for the NightExpress lines that meet there. As an alternative to individual traffic, a network of fast light rail lines separated from road traffic was also to be created in Mülheim. With the expansion of the light rail, part of the tram network was integrated into light rail traffic. This means that parts of lines 102 and 901 have been operated underground since the late 1990s. Line 102, which was previously routed awkwardly via Friedrich-Ebert-Straße and Bahnstraße, now quickly reaches the central station. The former tunnel ramp at Bahnstraße was decommissioned and demolished after the commissioning of the new tunnel section. Line 901, which previously ended at the Stadtmitte stop, has been extended to the central station.
