The Haranni Gymnasium in Herne is a municipal school for both boys and girls. The name "Haranni" is the former Latin name of the city of Herne.
The school accommodates 630 students and a faculty of 57 members. The principal is Nicole Nowak. The partner schools of the Haranni Gymnasium are located in Thiais near Paris, Wakefield, as well as Konin and Zagórów. Student exchanges are regularly held with these schools. Since 2011, a study trip to Oxford has also been offered for the 10th grade.
