On the southeastern edge of the Ville, at a distance of about 16 km from Bonn and with a direct connection to the A 61 in the Swist lowlands, are Dorf and Schloss Miel. In the series of castles and palaces located on the periphery of the former Electoral Cologne residential city, Miel is a special feature in that the two-century-old manor houses located here do not fit the term "castle", which was adopted from the predecessor building and is still used today.
