Gracht Castle was not originally a knight's residence, but a subsidiary estate of the House of Buschfeld and a fief of Dietkirchen Abbey in Bonn. During the French occupation, Gracht Castle served as a military hospital for many years, starting in 1795, and then fell into disrepair. In 1957, the municipality of Liblar acquired the castle, park, and gardens. Today, Gracht Castle is used by the European School of Management and Technology for seminars.
Guided tours are not available for individual visitors. Group tours can be arranged by prior arrangement with Rhein-Erft Tourismus eV. The castle grounds are open to the public.
