Aprath Castle is a former aristocratic residence located in the Wülfrath district of Aprah, near the border with the city of Wuppertal. The ensemble of buildings known as Aprath Castle dates back to the modern castle building, which was built in 1722 by Baron Johann Abraham Friedrich von Syberg zu Aprath near the medieval Aprah Castle, a protection and defense system inhabited by the landed nobility who had lived there since the early Middle Ages. Over time, the buildings were rebuilt and expanded several times. The appearance after reconstruction by Carl Rumpff in the 19th century shaped the memory of the property. Today, the entire castle complex has disappeared. Only the remains of the medieval fortifications directly on Landesstraße 74, sometimes called Aprath Castle, have been preserved.
