The building at Kurt-Schumacher-Straße 2/Heussallee 40 is a double villa located in the Bonn district of Gronau, constructed in 1911/12. It is situated in the center of the federal district. Both half-villas are listed as historical landmarks.
The villa was designed by the Bonn architect and government master builder Julius Rolffs, as his fourth project on the then Drachenfelsstraße in the "Villa Colony Gronau" at the southern edge of Bonn. While the northern half-villa, located on the then Siebengebirgsstraße, was built by Clara Freudenberg and Franziska Blume as clients, Rolffs commissioned the southern half-villa, facing Drachenfelsstraße, himself for re-letting. Following the respective building applications submitted on May 5 and 19, 1911, the construction permit for both half-villas was granted on June 12, and they were completed in June and August 1912. The double villa was the last standalone villa built on the Bonn Rhine shore until World War I.
