The Sauerland-Höhenflug is a hiking trail in the Sauerland that connects the North Rhine-Westphalian town of Altena with Korbach in Hesse. An alternative route starts in Meinerzhagen. The total length of the route is about 251 kilometres. The trail leads through the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge and Diemelsee nature parks. It runs mainly on mountain ridges in the range of 400 to 800 meters in altitude.
After several years of preparation, which was extended by Hurricane Kyrill, the hiking trail was officially opened on 31 May 2008 on the Schomberg near Wildewiese.
