The Üntrop nature reserve with a size of 10.9 ha is located southeast of Lenne in the urban area of Schmallenberg. The area was designated as a nature reserve in 2008 by the Hochsauerland district with the Schmallenberg Southeast landscape plan.
The NSG is the structurally rich upper valley area of the Uentrop with the tributaries Erfmicke and Jaismecke. The Uentrop is a near-natural low mountain stream and left tributary stream of the Lenne. In the southern section of the NSG, it forms partly pronounced meanders. The valley area is used as grassland. In peripheral areas, some forest areas are included in the NSG. Rare animal and plant species occur in the area.
