The oxygen plant II of the Army Research Institute in Peenemünde on Usedom served during World War II for the production of liquid oxygen for the propulsion of Aggregate 4 rockets.
The building is 73.10 meters long, 42.60 meters wide, 20.80 meters high, and is listed as a historical monument. The three-and-a-half-story brick-clad structure was built in skeleton construction style. On the roof, there is a long, single-story extension with horizontal window sills. The former oxygen plant has a sacred architectural structure. Notable is the 5-aisled, asymmetric floor plan with 9 bays, which corresponds to that of a basilica.
