The Seedorf estate was a noble estate in the Duchy of Saxony-Lauenburg. Its early owner families included the noble families of Seedorf, von Brockdorff, Scharpenberg, and von Lützow. The Lützows sold Seedorf to the von Witzendorff family shortly after they acquired the neighboring estate of Groß Zecher. Seedorf remained in the possession of the Witzendorffs until the end of the 19th century. With the death of the district administrator Ottokar von Witzendorff in 1890, Seedorf passed to his widow, a born Lindemann, who bequeathed it to her family after her death. From 1891 to 1893, the manor house, which still stands in front of the Seedorfer Werder today, was completely rebuilt in the style of historicism, showcasing a form language of Neorenaissance that is rather untypical for Schleswig-Holstein. The associated agricultural operation was abandoned in 1972, and the lands were sold to the state of Schleswig-Holstein.
