The Neuendorf ferry is a ferry connection in the city of Brandenburg an der Havel and the name of the ferry boat. It connects the village of Neuendorf, which belongs to the city, and the residential area of Buhnenhaus across the Brandenburg Lower Havel, a section of the Havel river. The ferry is a non-free-running car ferry that is guided by a steel cable. The owner is the Verkehrsbetriebe Brandenburg an der Havel GmbH, and the operator is the Brandenburger Dienstleistungen GmbH.
A ferry connection at the site of the current Neuendorf ferry is said to have existed since around 1900. The ferryman was a certain Albert Voigt, who ferried people across in a small ferry boat. Due to an increasing excursion traffic to the Havel and to the Breitlingsee and an increasing motorization, the ferry boats used soon became insufficient. Thus, a small car ferry was acquired, initially pulled by a diesel engine on a chain, later on a wire cable across the Havel.
