Tieckow [ˈtiːkoː] is a district of the town of Havelsee in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district in the state of Brandenburg and is part of the Beetzsee office. In 2002, Fohrde, to which Tieckow belonged since 1950, voluntarily merged with the town of Pritzerbe and the municipalities of Briest and Hohenferchesar to form the town of Havelsee, to which the village of Marzahne also joined in 2008. Tieckow is located on the Havel River about 500 meters southwest of Fohrde. The district includes the residential place Kolonie Tieckow, which is about one kilometer south of the village.
Even in prehistoric times, the area of Havelsee was inhabited by people. Based on archaeological finds, settlements in the area can be traced back to at least the Middle Stone Age. Numerous artifacts made of bone and antler have been excavated in the area of Pritzerber See, which date back to the Late Paleolithic or Mesolithic periods. For example, tips, bony fishhooks, and a buzz device were found. Iron Age cemeteries have been discovered in the vicinity of Pritzerber See.
