The Jüdenstraße is a thoroughfare in the historic center of the Berlin district of Spandau. It begins at the Altstädter Ring and crosses the Mühlengraben, intersects Moritzstraße and Ritterstraße, and meets again at its northern end at Viktoria-Ufer. Since the longitudinal street used to end at the city wall on both ends, Jüdenstraße was, unlike the parallel Breiten Straße and Carl-Schurz-Straße, not a through road. It is considerably less busy than the others – which were designed as pedestrian zones – longitudinal and cross streets of Spandau's old town.
The street originated in the 14th century. The word Jüden is a umlauted variant of the Middle High German word Juden. This street received its name after the Jews who lived there during that time. The earliest known record of the name dates back to 1537.
