The village of Löwenbruch is a district of Ludwigsfelde, a medium-sized town in the Brandenburg district of Teltow-Fläming. The formerly independent village, which was self-governed until 1997, lies about three kilometers east of the city center of Ludwigsfelde and approximately 30 kilometers south of Berlin. The place has 250 inhabitants on an area of 10.98 km².
The history of the village was shaped in the late Middle Ages and in modern times up to the 20th century by Brandenburg nobility and noble families. During this time, Löwenbruch had greater significance than the current main town of Ludwigsfelde. The most notable building in the village is the listed manor house of the von dem Knesebeck family from around 1800. The landscape of the agricultural-oriented place is characterized by a lowland with meadows, canals, lakes, and swampy forests.
