The barn windmill in Saalow is a windmill where the driving wind flows directly through the mill building and is not, as is usually common, diverted around the mill. This building, sometimes classified as a "wooden wind turbine," dates back to the 19th century and was originally constructed in what is now the district of Podemus in Dresden. It is unique of its kind worldwide.
The building located at Dorfaue Saalow 19 is situated in Saalow, a district of the municipality of Am Mellensee in the Teltow-Fläming district of Southern Brandenburg. It stands next to the local community center in the village center.
