The Mittelbruch is a nature reserve covering approximately 30 hectares in the territory of the Berlin district of Pankow, in the district of Berlin-Buch. The protection status of the area, which consists of three former peat bogs and an adjacent meadow landscape, was established on May 22, 1997.
The nature reserve Mittelbruch is either 28.2 ha or 31.2 ha in size. It is located north of Pölnitzweg, about 1.3 kilometers away from the Berlin-Buch S-Bahn station. The nature reserve borders the Bucher Forst to the northwest, the small garden colony Berlin-Buch to the east, and the residential area Hörstenweg to the south. A convenient access to the nature reserve is provided by Eupener Straße, which ends directly at the NSG.
