The Three Holy Puddles in the locality of Wandlitz are remnants from the Ice Age, forming three small interconnected lakes over marshy meadows. They are water-filled depressions in the meltwater channel between Lake Liepnitz and Lake Wandlitz, which have neither an inflow nor an outflow.
The three elongated drop-shaped lakes lie like a string of pearls almost in a west-east direction at the eastern edge of the Wandlitz district, about three kilometers from the historic town center. Two of the three puddles have been built up on their northern shores; settlement began in 1908 with the country house colony. The first 10 villas of that era were created as model houses in a competition announced by the railroad construction company for summer and vacation homes. The remaining ones still stand today at Puddle No. 1. However, the southern shore of the first puddle is not developed.
