Lanke

Lanke is a district of the municipality of Wandlitz, which was first mentioned in documents in the 14th century. The municipality belongs to the Barnim district in the federal state of Brandenburg. Until the year 2003, Lanke was an independent municipality within the Wandlitz office.

Lanke is located in the Barnim Nature Park amid beech and pine forests, 29.5 kilometers northeast of the city center of Berlin. The main town is situated in a lowland between three lakes: the Obersee to the west, the Krummen Lanke to the northeast, and the Hellsee to the southeast. The highest elevation is 85.6 meters above sea level and is located in the northern forest area of Lanke between the Bogensee and Strehlefließ. In Lanke, the state roads L 29 from Biesenthal to Wandlitz and L 31 from Bernau to Prenden intersect. The settlements Ützdorf, Bogensee, and Arendsee are located to the west or northwest of the village of Lanke.
