Lauchhammer-South

Lauchhammer-Süd is a district of the town of Lauchhammer in the southern Brandenburg district of Oberspreewald-Lausitz. It is located north of Federal Highway 169 along the Węgliniec–Falkenberg/Elster railway line and by the Schwarze Elster.
Dolsthaida was first documented as Dolst-Hyde on September 22, 1798. The place name Dolsthaida originally referred to a small piece of forest that belonged to a Bockwitz resident named "Dolst." Detlev Carl Graf von Einsiedel, sitting on Schloss Mückenberg, established a colony here initially comprising 133 hectares, with the first house handed over at Easter in the year 1800. This colony included ten houses located along a newly created road to Bärhaus. This connecting road ran over an embankment that linked the 13 new Elster bridges over Bärhaus with Ortrand and Dresden. The first settler was Inspector Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Vogel. In 1906, the colony eventually evolved into the municipality of Dolsthaida.
