Jüttendorf, Thamm and Neusorge are former suburbs of Senftenberg, which were incorporated into Senftenberg at the beginning of the 1920s. The villages are located in Lower Lusatia in the south of today's state of Brandenburg.
The name Jüttendorf comes from the word Kuten or Keuten. This was another word for wet holes. This developed into Kutendorf, which later became Jüttendorf. This describes the natural conditions, as the place was laid out in swampy terrain with wet holes.
