The Wotschofska, Lower Sorbian Wótšowska, is an island in the Spreewald. There is a restaurant of the same name on it, which is one of the region's excursion destinations. The restaurant is an architectural monument of the city of Lübbenau.
The name is derived from the Lower Sorbian "wótšow", which simply means "island". The island, which belongs to the village of Lehde, is centrally located in the Spreewald. The region is very humid and difficult to access, so in the past, especially in times of war, it served as a refuge for the inhabitants of the Spreewald. It was never entered by enemy troops during the war.
