Lieskau, Lower Sorbian Lěsk, is a district of the Brandenburg city of Spremberg in the Spree-Neisse district, in the southern part of Lower Lusatia at the border with Upper Lusatia. Lieskau was an independent municipality until 2002.
Lieskau is the easternmost district of the city of Spremberg. The area, with a total size of about 550 hectares, is located west of the Muskauer Folding and is about 10 kilometers from the center of Spremberg along the federal road 156, which leads east towards Bad Muskau from Spremberg. About three kilometers to the south is Schleife and about 12 kilometers to the southeast is the town of Weißwasser. To the south of the area runs the border between Brandenburg and Saxony, as well as that of Lower and Upper Lusatia. The federal motorway 15 is located approximately 21 kilometers to the north and the federal motorway 13 is 46 kilometers to the west. Lieskau is part of the Lower Sorbian or Wendish settlement area.
