Frauwalde is part of the municipality of Großkmehlen in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district in the German state of Brandenburg. It belongs to the office of Ortrand, with its seat in Ortrand.
Frauwalde is one of the few places in the southern Oberspreewald-Lausitz district that is not located in Lusatia but in Schraden. To the east of the village are the communities of the Ortrand office: Großkmehlen in the southeast and Lindenau, as well as directly east is the town of Ortrand with the district of Burkersdorf. To the west and northwest, Frauwalde borders the municipalities of the Elbe-Elster district, Großthiemig, and the Schraden municipality. South of Frauendorf lies the state of Saxony.
