Lettin

The locality of Lettin is, alongside Heide-Nord/Blumenau, another district of the district Lettin, in the West urban area of Halle in Saxony-Anhalt. It is located in the northwest of the city on the banks of the Saale, north of the district Heide-Nord/Blumenau and the district of Dölau. By the end of 2019, Lettin had 1,066 inhabitants.
Lettin lies on the northern edge of the West urban area of the city of Halle in southern Saxony-Anhalt. Immediately to the northeast, the Saale flows by. To the east is the port of Halle and the Northern industrial zone with a heating power plant. The Nordstraße – Schiepziger Straße road runs through the village in an arc from Kröllwitz and Halle-Neustadt in the south to Schiepzig and Salzmünde in the west. From this, the old road to Dölau branches off southward in the center of the district. However, it is no longer completely passable and has only connected Lettin to the district of Heide-Nord/Blumenau for several decades. Between Nordstraße and Kirchstraße is the Church of St. Wenzel. The Lettin cemetery is located about 500 meters southeast of it. Directly south of the cemetery lies the sports field of VFB Lettin 07 e.V. On Blumenauweg towards Heide-Nord is the main workshop of the Halle Disabled Workplaces.
