The path is designed as a circular hiking trail. It runs through the Wipper Valley in the Southern Harz, west of Wippra. There are parking spaces available at the Wippra dam. Wippra is accessible via the Klostermansfeld–Wippra railway line, and the starting point is about 6 km from the train station.
The circular trail is approximately 13 km long, with some sources stating it is 18 km, containing several detours and shortcuts, and it winds through the forest away from other paths. It is marked with signs featuring a drawing of two naked hikers and the inscription: "If you don't want to see naked people, you must not go further." The official hiking symbol is a yellow circle for circular hiking trails, enclosing an N. Of course, there is no obligation to hike naked.
