The Salzhaus or the Marstall is a historic building in the new town of Zittau in Upper Lusatia.
In 1389, the town of Zittau was granted the right to stack salt. As a result, a salt chamber was built on the site of today's Salzhaus, but it has not been preserved. Salt was very rare and valuable at that time, so that it was even used as a means of payment. The new law soon brought prosperity to the city.
