The castle Oderwitz, which is under monument protection, is a manor house built in 1910 in the Saxon municipality of Oderwitz. After the expropriation of Baron von Beschwitz in 1945, the building was used for a long time by the municipality as a youth hostel and finally passed into private ownership in April 2012.
The manor in Oberoderwitz was mentioned for the first time in documents in 1632; at that time, it was still owned by the von Nostitz family. Later, it passed to the Ruppersdorf family Meyer, who eventually sold it in 1908 to the district captain of Zittau, Baron von Beschwitz. He had the castle built in 1910 and moved his residence here after its completion in 1911.
