Jauernick-Buschbach is located about six kilometers southeast of Markersdorf in Upper Lusatia. The village lies by Lake Berzdorf, which extends to the southeast. Jauernick-Buschbach is the southernmost district of Markersdorf, sharing borders with the western village of Friedersdorf. The state road 111 runs north of the village towards Friedersdorf and Görlitz. To the west of the village is the Black Mountain.
Jauernick-Buschbach was formed in 1936 from Jauernick and the village of Buschbach, which was previously called Niecha and renamed in 1936. The new municipality belonged to the Görlitz district. In 1947, the village became part of the Weißwasser-Görlitz district and in 1952 of the Görlitz district. Jauernick-Buschbach lost its independence in 1994 due to its incorporation into Markersdorf. The Görlitz district transitioned to the Lower Silesian Upper Lusatia district in the same year, which became the new Görlitz district on August 1, 2008, due to the Saxony district reform of 2008.
