The Riesa-Großenhain Savings Bank was a public law credit institution based in Riesa, which merged into the newly established Savings Bank Meißen on January 1, 2007. Formally, the institution was taken over by the Meißen Savings Bank, which then moved its headquarters to Riesa. The reason for the merger was the connection of the district of Meißen with the district of Riesa-Großenhain to form the new district of Meißen.
The last annual financial statement of the institution was prepared as of December 31, 2006. Before the merger, the Riesa-Großenhain Savings Bank had a balance sheet total of 1.014 billion euros and a balance sheet profit of 1.9 million euros. The savings deposits of the institution amounted to a total of 700 million euros.
