The inland harbor of Eisenhüttenstadt is a port in Brandenburg's Eisenhüttenstadt that can transship bulk goods and heavy cargo. It is connected to the Spree and the Oder via the Spree-Oder waterway. It is operated by the municipal Stadtwirtschaft GmbH. It can be reached via federal highways B112 and B246. The A12 motorway is 25 km away. The railway connection is currently interrupted.
In Fürstenberg, the Oder-Spree Canal flows into the Oder. From there, the barges coming from Silesia, laden with hard coal, were taken over by a tugboat and towed via the Oder-Spree Canal to Berlin. Several ports were operated for this purpose.
