The Municipal Leibniz Gymnasium Remscheid is a school that has existed since 1827 in Remscheid, located since 1986 in the Klausen school center in Remscheid-Lüttringhausen.
Founded as a private citizen school in 1827, the institution was expanded into a secondary school in 1873. From 1886, it was developed into a reform secondary school, which administered the Abitur for the first time in 1901 and received its own secondary school branch in 1907. In 1937, it was named "Hindenburg School" as a municipal secondary school for boys. In 1946, the school was transformed into the Municipal Natural Science Gymnasium with Latin as the first foreign language as part of educational reform.
