The Wolfsbrunnen is a historical fountain complex in Heidelberg-Schlierbach. It is a protected monument.
In a spring-rich valley, which steeply descends from below the rock sea at Königstuhl to the Neckar and the then fishing village of Schlierbach, Elector Friedrich II built a pleasure house with fountains and water features around the year 1550. There were also three fish ponds once located there, which are still partially recognizable today. The valley of the Schlierbach, located about two kilometers east of Heidelberg Castle, was accessible from there via an old high path, now known as Schloss-Wolfsbrunnenweg. The name of the fountain likely comes from the electors' wolf catcher, who drove away and captured wolves.
