The Captain Meyer is a museum ship in Wilhelmshaven. It is located at Bontekai, right next to the lighthouse ship Weser.
The former steam-powered buoy layer was built in 1949/50 at the Seebeck shipyard in Bremerhaven as a replacement for the buoy layers Triton II and Wik, which were lost in February 1944 due to mine hits, and was the first new ship built after the Second World War at a German shipyard. The ship is named after the captain of the buoy layer Wik, which sank on February 22, 1944, in the Lister Tief off Sylt.
