The Langwedel lock is a lock on the middle reaches of the Weser. It is located in the Lower Saxony municipality of Langwedel, in the district of Verden, and belongs to the Langwedel barrage with hydroelectric power plant.
The Langwedel lock is located at river kilometre 329.4 and kilometre 5.6 of the 8.5 km long Weser lock canal in the Cluvenhagen district of the municipality of Langwedel. It is located between the Dörverden lock upstream and the Bremen Weser locks downstream. The Weser Lock Canal shortens river loops of the Weser. Due to the construction of the canal from 1937 onwards, parts of the Alte Aller were filled in or diverted. Since then, the district of Hagen-Grinden has been located on an island between the canal and the Weser and can be reached via three canal bridges.
