The Rickmer Bock is a former motor lifeboat of the German Society for Rescue of Shipwrecked Persons. It was built at the shipyard August Pahl in Hamburg-Finkenwerder with the construction number 253.
The boat, internally designated KRB 208 by the DGzRS, was commissioned in October 1944 as Hindenburg, but was already renamed in December 1944 to Geheimrat Heinrich Gerlach III; Gerlach was the chairman of the DGzRS district association Memel who passed away in 1912. In October 1950, the boat was renamed again and received the name Rickmer Bock. Rickmer Bock was a long-time coxswain of the DGzRS on the island of Helgoland, who died in 1950.
