The former Capuchin monastery of Riedlingen is now used as a municipal library and city archive. The monastery church of St. Sebastian is considered one of the earliest Baroque churches in Upper Swabia.
The monastery was built between 1645 and 1655. In October 1655, the first Capuchin fathers moved in. They mainly took on pastoral duties in Riedlingen and the surrounding area. The economic foundation of the monastery was based on donations and a host bakery for the surrounding communities and monasteries.
