The Solingen-Wald train station is a former train station in the Solingen district of Wald, located on the discontinued railway line Wuppertal-Vohwinkel–Solingen.
The municipality of Wald, founded only in 1807, was granted city rights in 1856 under the Rhenish Cities Act. The already early industrialized community of Wald, with large factories in the steel goods and umbrella fittings industries, initially had no direct connection to the railway network, which would have provided an additional location advantage. The railway connection built between 1864 and 1867 between Gruiten and Deutz ran through the area of the municipality of Merscheid due to its more favorable, flatter topography. On September 25, 1867, the Bergisch-Märkische Railway Company opened the Ohligs-Wald station on this railway line near the hamlet of Hüttenhaus, which is the later Ohligs station and today's Solingen main station. Consequently, the Wald industry initially had to rely on the stations in Ohligs, Vohwinkel, or Solingen.
