Pronsfeld received railway connections to Gerolstein with the opening of the section Prüm – Bleialf on October 1, 1886, two years later to Sankt Vith. On July 6, 1907, the through station became a separation station with the opening of the railway lines Pronsfeld–Neuerburg and Pronsfeld–Waxweiler. Therefore, up to 50 workers and officials were employed at the Reichsbahn.
