The St. Koloman chapel in the Pfronten district of Ösch is a baroque church built in 1736 and a branch of the parish church St. Nikolaus in Pfronten-Berg.
Excavations beneath the chapel uncovered the foundations of a larger church at a depth of over 1 meter in 1956. Due to the nature of their stone placement, they have been dated to the 12th century. An originally larger church must also be assumed because in 1398 the two Pfronten settlements of Steinach and Ösch had to pay the same high taxes to the land lord, suggesting that Ösch was as large as Steinach. However, after that, the tax capacity shifted significantly in favor of Steinach. The few properties in Ösch were therefore no longer able to ensure proper maintenance of their church. By the beginning of the 18th century, it was in need of repairs and almost without funds. However, from 1730 to 1736, a smaller new building could be constructed in Ösch by the long-serving church caretaker Georg Höß. The necessary funds came from donors, including Johann Chrysostomus Scheitler, born in Ösch and pastor in Geisenried.
