The Garmisch-Partenkirchen District Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction. It is one of 73 district courts in Bavaria and one of eight district courts in the district of its superior Regional Court Munich II. The seat of the district court is located at Rathausplatz 11 in the Partenkirchen district of the municipality of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Two judges of the district court, Dieter Klarmann and Gernot Körner, came under criticism between 1993 and 2008 as "scandal judges" or "Judge Ruthless" due to strict decisions and controversial methods. The judgments made by these judges were often overturned at the appellate level in the Munich II Regional Court.
