The water tower Vegesack in Bremen-Vegesack, Bermpohlstraße 40, is one of the significant Bremen buildings.
In 1887, initial plans for the expansion of the Vegesack water supply were presented by engineer Fritz Geck from Münster and waterworks director Ludwig Disselhoff from Hagen. By mid-1891, when around 17 wells were in use in Vegesack, the project became more concrete. The extensive water supply system was expanded according to Disselhoff's plans through a 12 km long pipe network, originating from the waterworks. This supplied the Bremen Vegesack and later the neighboring Prussian municipalities.
