The Niederschönenfeld Monastery is a former monastery of the Cistercian nuns in Niederschönenfeld in the Bavarian diocese of Augsburg.
The monastery is a foundation of Count Berchthold III of Lechsgemünd/Graisbach. According to legend, the monastery was built as atonement for the abduction of Adelheid, the king's daughter of Cyprus. Allegedly, Mary showed him in a dream the founding site of the Niederschönenfeld Monastery. The Beguines from Burgheim adopted the rules of the Cistercians and populated the new foundation. In memory of the founder of the monastery, a commemorative pillar for the founder still stands in the cemetery today.
