The Grünten cable car is an aerial cable car serving passenger transport and material supply to the Grünten in Allgäu.
The gondola lift operated by Bayerischer Rundfunk for supplying the transmitter station located on the Grünten has a length of 2597 meters. It overcomes a height of 951 meters. The two supporting cables have a diameter of 28 mm, while the pull cable has a diameter of 16 mm. The maximum speed of the Grünten cable car is 18 km/h. The two cabins can hold a maximum of 11 people. The Grünten cable car has a single support tower that is 27 meters high. Since June 2007, passengers have also been transported – but only from June to October on Thursdays. As a maximum of 200 visitors were transported per operating day, a reservation through the Rettenberg tourist office was necessary.
