The castle in Kempfenhausen, a district of the municipality of Berg in the Upper Bavarian district of Starnberg, is a protected historic monument.
Kempfenhausen Castle was built for Arsatius Barth from 1515 to 1520. Since 1850, the Schauß family has owned the castle. Emil, his sister Charlotte, and his brother Friedrich von Schauß sold it in 1892 to the national economist August Sartorius von Waltershausen.
